We got up pretty early this morning and headed out to Buzzard Rock Trail in the Washington National forest to hike and enjoy the mild weather. I was just amazed at how beautiful the forest is still. The sky was so blue and the leaves were all russet and golden, twirling down in their silent and lovely descent to the forest floor. I love the smell of the woods in Virginia, especially this time of year. Autumn has been more beautiful than I imagined it would be after our summer drought and we've been fortunate to take the time to really enjoy it.
We also did our usual running around on Sunday; a quick run to Costco (the crowds were unbelievable today!) for Greek yogurt, milk, fresh fruit and a sweet deal on a professional digital photography backpack and tripod! The backpack holds at least six lenses and the detachable flash unit, and it's going to really come in handy when we're shooting weddings. Our other case is hard sided and not much fun to haul around. Now we're home on our sofa, after fixing and sharing a little dinner and cleaning up the dishes. Ed's watching football and I'm doing a little photo editing and we're just enjoying hanging out together. I love days like today when we have no plans, no place to be, and we just do whatever we want to do. And I'm so grateful to have the beautiful life we share.
