Sunday....preserving day!


Our garden is bursting with the harvest, and today Ed and I plan to preserve as much of it as we can.  He's in the kitchen now, making pickles from our cucumbers.  We have plans to make and put up jalepeno jelly, as well as salsa, and spicy pickled green beans.  Last evening, in this terrible season of heat and humidity, we spent time in the garden picking green beans.  I got chewed up by mosquitoes, and our backs weren't what they used to be.  But the idea of preserving our own, homegrown, organic green beans is a great motivation!  I'm so excited today to be canning!
