Less than a year after Hurricane Ike, Ed and I visited my parents in Southeast Texas and took a day trip to Galveston and Crystal Beach to see for ourselves the aftermath. We were stunned by the utter devastation in the area, particularly in Crystal Beach. This was erected at the entrance, at the spot where the highway runs parallel to the shore. I had to get out of the car and capture this image.
