Here are the lovely rings of Brandon & Susan, who were recently married.
I love everything about wedding rings; the symbolism of an unending circle of love, the band of a precious metal to be worn on the third finger of the left hand that supposedly has the closets ties to one's heart. I love the engagement ring...the excitement a girl feels when she gets one, the way she shows it off, and the way it makes her dream of a perfect wedding day and a happy married life. I love the sparkle of the diamond and the symbolism of everlasting love it conjures, and oftentimes I love just the simplicity of a simple wedding band.
Yellow gold is not in style, but I choose it because it suits me -it's traditional. My round diamond also suits me....it's classic and internally flawless and it sparkles like mad. I love my wedding rings, and Ed's plain, heavy gold band, which he has never removed since the day almost nine years when I placed it on his finger.
"With this ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee endow" Book of Common Prayer.
Amen.
